NBC 30 updates graphics

Tuned in to NBC 30 news this morning and I am seeing some new graphics or updates to them, more brown and yellow. Some of the transition ones seem bolder and there has been an update to their music package as well.

But the one interesting thing about their ID graphics, on the left side of the screen is one of the feathers in the NBC Peacock.

Wonder how long they have had this.

They rolled out the new graphics and music a few weeks ago (actually, it was the day after FOX61 debuted their expanded morning news, new graphics, music, etc.)

I didn't post anything because the NBC30 logo is the same. Just the graphics, font, etc. are ALOT sharper. I wonder if this has anything to do with their new studios opening next year, which are supposed to be "HD compatible". WABC7 did the same thing to their logo and graphics when their newscasts went HD a few months ago.

I like the new music a lot better too, it's more professional sounding and you get the feel it's an NBC O&O station now (even though, ironically, NBC put them up for sale). I want to say they use the same theme on NBC4 in LA, but I can't remember, I know I've heard it before somewhere.

But some things have not changed, like weather/traffic graphics and maps.

I thought they freshened it up a bit, knowing more people would be watching the station due to the Olympics? They are still an NBC O&O, the last time I checked. Did WNBC-TV/DT make any changes either?

These are new NBC O&O graphics most NBC O& O's will get em except for WNBC (who keeps its current package its hasn't had a package similar to its sister stations), and WTVJ (as you know is going to be sold). NBC 30 is getting em because they haven't found a buyer. KNTV also got the graphics but kept its music package it shares with WNBC. A few other still haven't gooten the graphics yet though.

I didn't realize the WNBC music package was so unique. IMHO, it's the base I've heard on a local newscast. Very classy.
