Is this an old story or something? I hadn't even noticed. On nbc5i.com (KXAS-TV's website,) there's plenty of photos showing construction of a new news set (which, curiously, looks similar to the one at WFAA's Communications Center [but not their Victory Park set.])
My question is, is this new set ACTUALLY at KXAS's Broadcast Hill studios, or was it built at the NBC Miami ShareCasting hub in Miramar, FL (where all master control processes, including robotic cameras, are operated remotely for Ch 5's newscasts)? I guess you could green-screen the local anchors onto a Florida set and cut off the last of one's local control room and floor crew staff.
