NBC CANCELS ANOTHER - WILL REPLACE WITH RERUNS

In case you haven't noticed NBC seems to be the bottom feeder this season.

Now they have cancelled their second new show "Free Agents" (whatever that was)
and will replace it with reruns as they are also doing with "The Playboy Club".
The head of NBC is probably fuming with his execs because Nobody Bought Comedies.

I don't know what it was either; a sitcom, I think, but
it got murdered by ABC's "Suburgatory" on Wednesdays
at 8:30 (ET/PT). "Free Agents" finished 90th out of 110
shows in week 2.

It was bad even before Suburgatory premiered. It absolutely baffles my mind how these shows even make it to air, if they are cancelled within a month of hitting the air, then someone needs to pick better focus groups.

Yikes, don't blast me for this but I saw an episode of "Free Agents" and thought it was smart, well-written and well-acted. Though it would qualify as a comedy, it indeed was not slap-your-knee, laugh-out-loud funny. It was smart funny. And interesting. And for the record, I didn't think it would last. It may have had a better shot on cable.

I believe that the 10PM slot on Mondays will be replaced with Brian William's Rock Center at the end of the month. Saw a promo for it last night on NBC.

That's too bad. I had this great idea for a show about nothing I would have pitched to them...

Looks like "can't see TV" might be going the way of local stations piling "newscasts" one on top of the other because they are the cheapest to produce. En Bee (can't) Cee is shooting itself in the foot (again).

I was thinking more about a comedy where a guy buys a 1928 Porter 1988 Yugo from a used car lot, gets inside, and hears his mother's voice coming out of the radio. This soon-to-be classic would star Ted McGinley, with the voice of Roseanne Barr as his mother (the car). ;D

...and then Ted McGinley would get into an accident with me without having any insurance, and the
judge would sentence him to be my butler....

I agree with everything you said. From the first commercial I thought "that looks funny, but no one young is a star of the show so no on will watch" I'm looking forward to seeing the original on BBC America tomorrow

They are still sucking air after the Leno debacle. They're just throwing stuff to the wall to see if anything sticks.

Brian William's Rock Center will be taking over the 10pm Monday spot come Oct. 31. Should be interesting how this new news magizine type show will do.

I might be tempted to try watching something new, if they just would give us somebody new to look at.
Seems like every show, news or entertainment, has to use one of the small stable of talent the networks already have.

How about fishing around the pool of network affiliates, and find some good, fresh faces we can look at and listen to? Would that be so hard to do?
