NBC Cancels Knight Rider

Pretty funny. They cancelled a show about a car while they were trying to replace it with a show about a TRUCK, which they also cancelled after one pilot.

What will ROSIE do now? She should go back to angry-bitch standup comedy. OR, what about some sort of collaberation between her and Rosanne Barr? Maybe a stint as jello wrestlers in Las Vegas would help turn around the profit trends in the casinos.

I would venture a guess in that NBC won't be getting into remaking shows again. (Bionic Woman and now Knight Rider)

NBC seems to be going downhill now that many of its shows are not "Must See TV" anymore. Another guess of mine would be that since Deal Or No Deal is a bigger hit in syndication than on NBC, I would suspect that the NBC version will be getting the ax soon.

The funny part is whatever they replace it with will probably be an even poorer performer. I mean, when you have to resort to running two-hour editions of The Celebrity Apprentice...damn, it makes Knight Rider look like the Bard.

Or worse, it makes Knight Rider's ancestor, "My Mother The Car", look like the Bard.

Please don't insult Jericho by comparing it to the muddled mess that was the new Knight Rider (the movie/pilot made much more sense than the show). :D

If my Wikipedia reading hasn't failed me, NBC never officially canceled The A-Team, but merely put it on hiatus. A twenty year hiatus, perhaps, but...

Wikipedia isn't worth the wattage it takes to run their site. That said, pretty much be definition, not being brough back in a subsequent season is being cancelled.

The new Knight rider really wasn't all that bad.
Again, I respect the writers for at least keeping with the times in a decent manner that was both humorous and entertaining.

My favorite example had to be when the car talked and the one bad guy said "THE CAR TALKS!" While another bad guy said "Big deal...my car talks too! It's called GPS!!!!"

Then Kitt responded by saying "Yes but can your car do this...?"

I enjoyed that very much. It was great to see what the car did.
(I'm not telling you. You had to see it! :p )

Good to see the writers also making the car the star of the show...not just the new Mike Knight and his goings on.

I hope this show returns very soon.

When even NBC cuts you loose early, ain't no way the show will return (unless you're talking about burning off the shows they've already paid for).

Technically, a football game where the score is 45-0 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter is not over. Everybody knows what the chances are for the losing team to make a miracle comeback. Happens all the time.

I guess Knight Rider is still trying to get into field goal range, but the stands are starting to empty.

I think we still need to see what the reboot will look like. It could be that NBC has already seen the reboot and made their decision to cut the episodes/canceled. Or, they may wait until the ratings come back after the reboot which may drive the decision either way.
