NBC CONNECTICUT HD

Last night at 11, Gerri Brooks and Keisha Grant gave a tour of the (almost completed) new building and studios. It looks really nice, even nicer than WNBC's relatively new studios. They're predicting the debut of their new digs along with HD news coming in June.

Since then, they've been airing commercials about "NBC Connecticut HD" and being the first in the market with HD news. Does anyone else get the feeling that they're going to stop calling themselves NBC30? I guess we'll find out sooner or later.

Not unprecedented...WCBS has called themselves "CBS2-HD" for a long time now. I'm glad to see out market is finally going to get a HD news package. Now, if they can just get rid of the awful NBC website :)

Not to go off on a tangent, but isn't 30 one of the stations that NBC/Universal is looking to dump? I'm surprised about the investment they're making if that is true, unless it's solely to make their on-air product more valuable in the market.

They were looking to sell at one time, but I think that had been postponed. I would guess, WVIT would be a more lucrative sale with a new HD studio anyway, right? Perhaps NBCU is looking for a return on investment.
