NBC gets package from Virginia Tech shooter

NBC is now involved in the Virginia Tech killings. They recieved a package in the mail from the shooter himself.

They do turn it over to the FBI...but not before they make a copy for themselves.

NBC initally said they would withhold showing the videos and photos inside...until tonight.

CNN and MSNBC are showing everything that this idiot made that is fit for broadcast.

Steve Capus...RESIGN IMMEDIATELY!!!

Jonathan Klein...RESIGN IMMEDIATELY!!!

To any network president, local station GM or ND who shows this...RESIGN IMMEDIATELY!!!

While it is newsworthy, some of the families might not be ready to see it. This has got to be the worst decision NBC has ever made.

Why should anyone have to resign. This is what actual news is about. A huge story across the country, NBC News receives information, turns it over to the authorities, and disseminates the information. News! Yes, what happened is a tragedy, my heart goes out to the families of those innocent victims, however their feelings should have nothing to do with NBC deciding to report this information. You can't censor information because it might offend or bother someone, that is not what freedom of the press is about. If releasing that information could cause further harm,, then it should not be released until the threat is over. That is not the case here. Fire these guys because they keep the Anna Nichole Smith baby story on the news. Thats not news, its gossip about a rich woman that was rather,,,, easy.

Although many may disagree with me, I don't think NBC should have shown or dissiminated the video because that was the shooter's main goal - to be on television. It is like letting him win, or, as another example, letting the terrorists win by making us scared of them and making us live our lives in fear. You have to be strong and can't show any support for them. Yes, the media obviously has to report on the Va. Tech situation and show his picture, but they really did not need to show that creepy video because they gave in to his "evil" wishes.
