NBC Katrina Special

First of all let me start off by saying that what happened in New Orleans a year ago was terrible and no one should ever have to deal with that. Also, the dropping of the ball if you will was done on many levels. Now that I have said that let me get to what I really want to talk about.

The NBC One Year later special.

I watched about 5 minutes of it and was so offended by NBC and especially Brian Williams constantly patting themselves on the back about how they were there and saw how bad it was and how proud they are about being there. They were just stroking the dumb-a egos and trying to take a tragedy and make them look like the heroes of the freaking world. It made me sick to see how they kept talking about how their team went threw New Orleans and filmed the problems and how scared they were.

I may have caught the show at the wrong time but it was enough to make me sick considering the last thing people in New Orleans want to hear is how great a news outlet thinks they are about covering other peoples suffering.

Shame on you NBC. :(

Their early coverage the morning of 9/11/2001 wasn't any better. :(

Agree totally on the "look what we did" approach used in the flash back. So, what have the NBC people done for us lately? They'll get scratch marks on their journalistic butts resting on their laurels like that.

The 9/11 look back certainly won't be any exercise in humility, either.

That may be true, but that was BREAKING NEWS that morning though. Big difference.

Cheers :)
