NBC News Radio is still alive…and becoming more aggressive to get more stations.

They also syndicate Fox News. If stations want that connection, they can carry Fox. If not, they have NBC or unbranded.

Ultimately it's up to the local station.
It's not necessarily who's brand they're hearing. Carr just doesn't want anything he can control to offend Dear Leader. I truly don't trust this man.

Maybe I've missed it, but nobody in the administration has said anything about commercial radio, one way or the other. It's like they don't listen.

Oh yes they did. Remember the KCBS//Audacy mess?

That was totally based on one social media post by one right wing influencer, all about Soros. Not about radio.
If memory serves, it was actually about KCBS broadcasting where ICE raids were happening around the Bay.. And Carr was particularly irked at KCBS and Audacy themselves. Audacy isn't buying stations now. But if and when they do, they'll have him to deal with. And the question will be if Audacy rolls over and settles with him or stands up to him. The smart money is on the latter.

Yup. We saw that in a big way on Tuesday (ever notice that he always draws his biggest red lines on Tuesday evenings, and he always makes his biggest moves Friday evenings and early Monday mornings?)

We shouldn't become complacent, though (and this applies to the media, too). There will come a time when he won't TACO (maybe because he stands firm, or maybe the situation, whatever it is, spirals so severely that he's unable to back down even if he wanted to). What do we do then?

His Friday tricks are there to keep him in the weekend news cycle.

Agreed.

I suspect it's also to avoid an immediate negative response by the stock and bond markets. This buys him about two days to do whatever.

Then, after monitoring the futures, he will do or say something that makes the markets happy first thing Monday morning.

It's not just me speculating. There's a clear pattern of manipulation. The exact reasons why are known only by Trump, however.

Here's a feature about ABC News Radio. It sounds like they're stronger than ever:

Speaking of sounding stronger than ever, it's great to hear Wayne Cabot on ABC network news on the weekends.

Most of the stations I stream don't carry ABC news so I don't know what other talent they have.

We elect presidents, not enigmas. When he manipulates stock markets as he does every Monday in key areas his friends are in (or mitigates any backwash on them from whatever he said), it doesn't matter what his reasons are, he's engaging in stock manipulation. If any of us did that, we'd be so busted.

@Bongwater Agreed. This "president" is so consistently inconsistent it amazes me that we can understand anything at all, and it worries me deeply that he is in control of this country's nuclear codes.

I don't think it's wise to continue this subject, however, so let's move on.

However, with regard to NBC News Radio, all that there was to say has pretty much been said, so now what?

I guess we are mainly waiting for either an announcement from Audacy as to who they will be utilizing on their all news stations after CBS News Radio shuts down. Or in the absence of an announcement listening to see what change each individual station makes.
