NBC not airing Golden Globes press conference

TV Guide, E!, and CNN are airing the official press conference. NBC is airing an "Access Hollywood" produced special announcing the winners after they have been officially announced. (No footage of the press conference whatsoever).

NBC can kiss the Golden Globes rights goodbye.

I would complain to NBC about this right now. This is wrong for them to do that.
 
I just watched it live on TV Guide; their coverage was pretty straightforward.

As for CTV in Canada...I'm not sure if either the main network or CTV Newsnet carried the press conference as well.

What do awards have to do with writing? Can't they write there own acceptance speech?

Or was it that the writers would picket the awards for attention and the actors wouldn't cross the picket line?

The actors decided not to cross the picket line in a show of solidarity with the writers, thus without the appearance of the actors, the networks decided viewers wouldn't tune in and watch, thus no televised awards show.
So how many people do you think really missed the fact the Golden Globes were not televised?
Personally I was watching the football game and could have cared less about the Globes. In fact I never watch awards shows. I find them long-winded and boring.

Sometimes I wonder the same about reality TV - also 'unscripted'.

Well that would be VERY STUPID since the local affliates had no control over a NETWORK decision. ::)

Just because you think awards' shows are garbage? Well, that's pretty stupid to hope a bunch of people remained unemployed because of a bunch of greedy network and studio folk. ::)
