NBC Sun Night football adds Olbermann

Next season Sunday Night Football will inject Olby into the mix (and Olbermann,
unlike onetime Monday Night Football co-host Dennis Miller, actually worked sports before)...Detractors
of K.O. will no doubt soon start calling him "Worst Football Host Ever!".

>>Keith Olbermann will add a fifth voice to the studio on NBC's Sunday-night football highlights show in the fall, the network said on Monday. Bob Costas anchors the show, with Cris Collingsworth and now Olbermann as co-hosts. With Jerome Bettis and Tiki Barber as analysts, the former NFL players will outnumber Costas and Olbermann by 3-to-2. Olbermann, who first became known as a host on ESPN's "Sportscenter," has shuffled between news and sports during his career. His "Countdown" show on MSNBC has been hot lately, with Olbermann drawing attention for commentaries taking on the Bush administration.

Sounds sort odd...Keith Olbermann is a baseball guy. He is a member of an elite association of baseball fans, and he is/was a part time consultant for the Topps card company.

Sounds like it could work.

Well looks like I won't watch NBC Sunday night football. I have no doubt that Olby will push some of his political agenda at some point. He does it with Dan Patrick on ESPN Radio. Why won't he do it on NBC Sports as well? I'll listen to Westwood One instead.

As long as he's talking sports, I have little problem with him. However, I think this is an odd mix. I think these studio shows are almost out of control, but not quite, with 4 people. Having 5 in there will be a bit difficult to manage. Worse, both Costas and Olbermann will try to "host" even though Costas is the host.

Rush Limbaugh used to work sports before his NFL assignment. We all know how that worked out. It wouldn't surprise me one iota if Olbermann ends up the same way. I don't think he can help himself.
