NBC To Air Hurricane-Relief Benefit

NBC has announced that this Friday (September 2nd), the network will air a musical special to raise funds for hurricane victims. Many of the performers are expected to be those with ties to the impact area along the Gulf Coast.

To be hosted by Matt Lauer, and broadcast beginning at 8 P.M. EDT (on NBC, it will be seen on a tape-delay on the West Coast), the concert will also be seen on MSNBC and CNBC.

I hope that not only will NBC/Universal's other cable networks air this special, but I hope that it will also be made available to other broadcast and cable networks. I'd like to see this event be on as many broadcast and cable networks as possible.

This is an MSNBC news story on the benefit concert telecast.

This is an NBC press release announcing the concert benefit.
