I've seen lots of TV shows, but I never could get excited about seeing a News program. I don't see the appeal. They go outside for about 30 seconds. The rest of the time you watch them do the show through a window. It just seems like a lot of effort to go and stand outside in the cold for nothing. A few months ago I went to see David Letterman. Two weeks ago I was at The Price Is Right. Those were fun shows to see. But to stand and watch Al Roker do the weather, I just don't get the attraction.
I understand what you are saying, but it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet famous people, and for FREE!!!
Back in 2002, when (WILD 1090am was Urban AC) they had "Tom Joyner Morning Show" on weekday mornings (6am-10am). Back then, "Tom Joyner Morning Show" used to have a FREE Concert on Friday mornings "The Sky Show" with Major Urban AC Artist and Major Comedians such as Bill Cosby, they came to Boston back around ??? March 2002, I went to that concert. It was at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Roxbury. I heard from Bloggers that you have to get there by 3am, because they close the doors at 6am.
Well, I arrived there at 6am, I was the first one there, got to sit in the first row, I got to see the Urban AC singer (JOE) for FREE.
I didn't stay for the whole concert because I had to go to work (which was right up the street from there) at that time.
I should've stayed for the whole concert.
I had the BEST time of my life there. It was banging
Now, later on around 2005, Russ Parr Morning Show" used to be on the former (HOT 97.7). Around September-October, Russ Parr also have a FREE Back to School Concert, featuring major Urban Artist. That was at Roxbury Community College (right across the street from Reggie Lewis Track Center). I went before work, I thought I was about to have the same fun experience as when I went to see Tom Joyner, nope, almost like you just said, but, in this case, this was in an Auditorium. It was BORING. They just played the music for 10 seconds (when they talk over the music) then, no music, nothing for five minutes. When they talked to the losteners and had their 2-3 minute features, they had it in their headphones. I went there at 6am, they kept teasing the concert, I left at 8am, because I had to get to work (in Medford-back then). I'm still happy because I got to meet Russ Parr at at free event at Downtown Crossing a day before.
I might still go tommorow, just to see.
It's a once in a lifetime opportunity
