NBC-Universal to buy controlling stake in MSNBC

This is a link to the official NBC/Universal press release announcing the deal.

I would guess that sometime in the next few months (probably right after the Winter Olympics), the MSNBC cable channel will have it's named changed (perhaps to the NBC News Channel), but given that NBC/Universal and Microsoft will remain 50-50 partners in the MSNBC website, the website's name won't be changed.

I actually prefer MSNBC, and as of recently, it has been doing much better (compared to 2004 and against its competition too). As far as CNBC and Bravo go, CNBC just needs to find something to fill the primetime. For the daytime they may not have a lot of money, but those people are wealthy, influential people. Bravo just needs to set a more regular schedule than have random re-runs whenever they feel they want to run it.
