NBC10 Studio Facility Question

Does anyone have the detail plans and schedule of NBC10's Studio upgrade to accommodate their digital high definition modifications. I read that all NBC O&O stations would be receiving the same treatment as NBC4 WNBC-TV, other NBC O&O's, and the new NBC News 30 Rock news facilities. It appears that NBC10 has no future plans in moving out of their current facilities as their two major competitors have or will be. A number of NBC O&O station have recently or have plans on moving into new state-of-the-art facilities, such as Burbank/Los Angeles, Chicago, and Hartford. It there are plans, doing it before the 2008 election onslaught and 2008 Olympic activities would be a good idea.

The only thing I've been privy to is that a new graphics package has already been purchased that will be able to work hand-in-hand with high def -- which is scheduled for the first quarter of '08.

Yeah they can thank their parent company for being so slow with the changeover. It seems like the O&Os are going to be outsourcing their HD graphics as the package that WNBC has was made by Element and as you just said, 10 just bought a new package. I've also heard they've been shopping around for a new set (took them long enough after 7 years) for quite awhile now. One company's concept had leaked out a few months back (and stupid me never saved the image and I forget where the hell it is now). Hopefully they'll get some new music as well.

As far as their facility is concerned, they don't need to move anywhere. Their facility is quite large and they have 3 studios (well two cause they converted one into what is now their newsroom) most of the stations that you mentioned can't say that they have that kinda space.

But yeah look for an HD relaunch before May sweeps rolls around.
