NBC5 Set Changes...

Ive been noticing NBC5 has been doing most of their cast in the bullpen recently, are they in the process of getting an new HD-compatible set??

Yes

there have a couple of stories in the paper and on Ed Bark about it

Isn't that the last thing to spew my appetite? "JaM" in high def?! ???

I just had my boss walk down the hallway and shut my door after laughing so hard. Yeah, I would stop down for traffic on a daily basis.

"What, NO! Really, I-75 is a mess. Check this out." ;D

Funny stuff. And like the rest of you, there are some things I never want to see in HD.

But I'd point out that the highway isn't part of the Interstate system; it's correctly identified as US 75. I-75 runs from Michigan to Florida. Unfortunately there are people who've been doing traffic for years around here who don't know that, including some of them at stations like NBC5.

A news assignment editor toldme Jane looks waaay too ..with out her makeup. Plants wilt.

I wonder if Mike Burgandy...er..Synder will be able to remove the girdle once and for all??

On another note, I wonder if the set will be similar to the new KXAN "Austin News" configuration(which looks pretty decent) or are they going for an WFAA "Glass and Lights" look??

for one they have to stop with the pops right before they go back from break to the news and for the love of pete I was watching wwe saturday night main event last night and a couple mins before min they came back and doing the recap of what happened that night it switched to a whataburger commerical.

Do they really think a new set will improve ratings? When they start reporting the news once more they need to get read of the "high school drama' class approach to reporting. They need to know the word "next" means NEXT. not 10 min. later. They to tone down the facial expressions when reading the teleprompter.

I tend to keep watching ch.5 if I see that Kevin Cokely is filling in. If not 8 or 4, never 11.

I've been out of the loop on NBC5 since we didn't get it in Tyler, and I've been in Washington for almost 2 years now...so I have but one question to ask.

When did Snyder morph into Jabba the Hut?

Geez, Mike, how about removing the words 'biggie' and 'supersize' from your vocabulary.
