Only 6 new September shows (5 1/2 hours) for a network on the edge of a cliff?

If they really think this sad schedule is going to get them out of the cellar, I have a bridge
in Brooklyn for sale.

This just looks like more of the same...........a continuation of this season. The water at the
north pole is hotter.

They might get better ratings by just playing the Sunday night game again on Saturday night than
repeats of those other shows.

Odd enough, I'm willing to believe Wonder Woman would have done well on Saturday night...somehow. Too bad that show never got to see the light of day!

Prime Suspect is OLD- it started in the UK in 91. Be interesting to see the American version I guess

Playboy Club looks good.

Clearly, NBC hasn't learned from "Cop Rock".

Wait, I get it - this is supposed to be their "Glee." Bet it won't be as popular as "Cop Rock" when allis said and done.

Looks like NBC is counting on the NFL owners and players to stop being greedy. What is there backup plan if the NFL cancels the season or even if it starts late?

That's what I was thinking. They passed up Wonder Woman for this????

And if the NFL goes bust..............I guess they can just make Sunday another re-run night
for all their other shows. Sorry NBC, but even some of the cable channels are making you
look like garbage.

What they (and the other networks) need to do is stop importing British garbage into this country.

Umm...some of the best comedy and drama in the world comes out of the UK. Do you even know what you're talking about? You name me a TV show and I'll bet there's an 80% chance of at least some British influence there.

Strangely enough, I agree with both posters to a point.

I think there are alot of good British TV that can be imported if and only if the US networks would quit twisting and perverting the shows to the point of being bad. My best example of this and I know people will think I am nuts for saying this but here it goes "The Office". I have watched the original UK version and it is very deadpan and funny but the American version to me has become silly and goofy. It is far from the original UK version. The US version is to the point of where a person can just shut off their brain and enjoy the show and I cannot stand it.

Another good show that had a huge British influence was "All in the Family". It was left relatively untouched by the US and the show evolved on its own to be great. It was also a thinking persons show and made people discuss the problems of the day and left them wanting more. Todays shows aren't even close.

Oh well! Unless we have the NFL this fall, I won't be watching anything on this network. About the only time I do is Saturday Night Live...and that's dependent on who's hosting. It's too bad because I usually watch the local news on NBC here in Hartford/New Haven and in Portland/Poland Spring when I visit that area (was loyal to them when I lived in Maine from 1985 to 1987).

As for The Apprentice, I guess that is still on the schedule, since Donald Trump announced that he's NOT running for president.

Apparently their experience with Las Vegas taught NBC that an hour-long drama series with
a bunch of hot looking babes is good to get you through a season and a half anyway.

It's funny you think of Las Vegas here, as Playboy Club probably owes its existence (from concept to its NBC pickup) thanks the critical and ratings success of Mad Men on cable. That one AMC show has somehow made adults under 45 'nostalgic' for semi-fictionalized versions '50s and '60s, where the writers can take a few creative liberties without having to consider current technology or current events like a present-day sitcom or drama might be expected to acknowledge. That, and the writers have all kinds of historical references and resources they can reach for to influence plot turns.

That's not to say this NBC show will feature equally comparable writing or characters as the ones in Matthew Weiner's pet project, but it shouldn't surprise anyone if that's the benchmark. At least viewers won't have to wait until 2012 to try it out.

"Parenthood" and "Chuck" are back and Christina Applegate is getting another show. I only wish "Samantha Who" had lasted.

"Community" is also entertaining in its own demented way.

I'll try the show that's being compared to "Glee" but can't imagine it'll be that good.

Well, having seen the previews, I beginning to think that "Whitney", "Chelsea" and "Smash" look like they might have a chance, as long as the network or the creative folks behind these projects don't screw up.

NBC has planned on finding someone else to host the show if Trump was running for President.
