Before i respond on this, i will say what i have learned in the past about stories like this: There is ALWAYS two sides to it.

Think about it.

True. However, given the way that the facts are laid out on this story, Tiki's version needs to be very compelling indeed. Because he is looking like a very, very bad guy at this point.

Unless Mrs. Barber lunged at him with a knife or something you are gonna have a very hard
time convincing me.

I wonder if he got a thank you note from Tiger Woods for the timing of this announcement...

He definitely should have gotten a thank you note from Jesse James! Jesse could say "I might have cheated on my wife with several females including one has Nazi tattoos but I want my marriage to work! I didn't leave Sandra while she was pregnant!" :D

I agree. We don't know if Mrs. Barber is a shrew who drained the bank account, drank heavily, used drugs, withheld sex, etc. Or if Tiki is the father of her twins...

Agreed. Wives can cheat just as well as the guys. Why are the men automatically assumed to be the ones at fault. Women can get around too. Case in point is Liz Taylor getting married for the 9th time at age 78! There's something just not right about that...

What are the odds of that, really? I mean really? Grasping at straws at bit, aren't we?

On the other hand, what are the odds that they had normal marital stresses and this smokin' HOT blonde threw herself in Barber's lap - so he just had to do her? Yea, there's a 1 in 1000 that the first suggestion could be true. But, given human nature, the odds that it was the second scenario are overwhelming.

These things do happen in life, of course, but the way in which Barber has handled it publicly is pretty damning in and of itself. His own statements, when taken literally, paint a picture of a man-boy who decided to ditch his pregnant (with twins) wife in order to have fun with the hottie. That behavior may be commonplace in the ghetto, but it's not acceptable in polite society.

Why is it, in our society, that we have so many people who are so eager to be apologists for someone who is so clearly irresponsible? This is exactly why we are where we are. Do you also think OJ was framed too?

I think it's a reaction to decades of man-bashing that has become a staple in popular culture. So when stories like Barber's come out, many of the guys here have a cynical reaction to the details. This is not to excuse Barber's behavior, if that is the true account of the events.

It's much easier to blame feminism these days. ;)

I don't know which is worse, getting caught in a love triangle or getting caught in the Bermuda Triangle. There's only one of them where you might come out with your body parts fully intact.

I wonder what another former Giant, Michael Strahan, thinks about Tiki's situation... ::)

Believe me, I agree with you on this point.

Men are routinely demonized and relegated to the role of 'idiot' in various politically correct infotainment shows and commercials. That's clearly wrong, yet you see it all the time. But we also have to pick our battles and this particular incident is too ugly to take a stand on. It's pretty tough to envision a scenario where Tiki's behavior would be considered acceptable.
