NCE needs an exciter

Our older BE exciter is slowly going to broadcast heaven. Looking for
a solid state replacement. 25 watter will do just fine.
Donation is hoped for. We have a small amount to pay if need be.

We have checked with BE. They want $900 to go through the unit. That does not
include shipping. I think a new solid state exciter can be bought for under 2000.

If it is an FX-30 or FX-50, that $900 would be a better investment than an inferior, but cheaper, new exciter. Especially if BE does the refurb themselves.

IIRC, when new, the FX-30 was a well-spent $6000.

Kind Regards,
David

IME, that exciter is well-worth the repair/refurb by BE. Once fixed, it should run for many years without so much as a hiccup. The new/cheap exciter will not. Plus, the BE product is incredibly tolerant of environmental and power-related anomalies.
