I must admit that the station has sounded really good of late. Their DJs (Andy Clark, Chris Davis, and Maxwell) always are informative and entertaining. And I promise you I am not an employee or anything.

But I gotta ask, are they doing their dream home giveaway contest this year? I'm graduating college here soon and need a new crib

WNCI is a great sounding top 40 station. But, I also think they have some stations ready to fight. Power 107-5 has gotten much more rhythmic, Mix 97.1 sounds A LOT more CHR as well. I think Columbus radio has improved. In my opinion, WNCI needs to sound a bit more CHR, for goodness sake, keep the rap versions of songs in.

that would be a great idea.. if they wanted to loose their adult audience..

WNCI is famous for leaning away from rap stuff. They've always been an extremely conservative CHR(Sounding almost Hot-ACish at times), dating back to the Fall of 1990 when I started listening, when I moved within range of their monster 175,000 watts of music pa-pa-power(Remember that old liner?). They even once tried an ill-fated move to copy Sunny 95 around Spring 1993 and switch away from CHR to go AC(They had "25 minutes of upbeat music"). I totally agree that 'BNS/Mix 97.1 HAS sounded much more CHR over the last few months...Great move on their part. 'NCI needs great competitors, and Mix is ready to put up a fight...They also have two former 'NCI alumni as well(Andrew Wright and Mark Dantzer).

NCI has Power right on their tail. NCI sounds "alright". Their imaging is hot, they started something new though. Since when do they go from song to song with no jock or imager?

97.1 is leaning CHR?? When did that happen? I don't hear T-Pain on that station (hahaha..can you imagine the Sue Show introin' that!) ?

I heard Lifehouse for a week and then it disappeared? Imaging sounds Hot AC to me..

As for Power? Do they ever play a song with a cuss word in it? Everytime I hear "Outta my System" I gotta sing the "damn" part on my own..it ticks me off!

LOL. It's part of Radio One's new "family thing". HOT 102-9 sounds the same way. By the way, MIX 97.1 will play T-Pain the day it gets 15-20 requests a day! That won't even work. But yeah, Mix stays pretty Q102-ish.
