Neal Boortz must be pretty darn lucky

Neal Boortz must be the only guy on radio that can trash his employer and the properties that said employer operates and still retain his employment. Is Neal Boortz the only radio personality that could get away with this?

Not sure what you're talking about, since I don't listen to him, however, I suppose when you have the kind of ratings he does, he can pretty much do whatever he wants to.

I remember listening to him one morning and he called John Rocker an a-hole, except he actually said the whole word. I was surprised anyone was able to get away with saying that.

Brian:Boortz is basically an independent contractor isn’t he? If so, I am sure that gives him latitude that true employees do not have.Regardless of the corporate affiliations, when he comments on inaccurate reports by WSB-TV reporters and points out liberal leanings and inaccuracies of specific AJC stories and columns do you think he is out of line? Neal being Neal, it is natural that he expound on them. However, I will note that when he was giving economic lessons about gas prices during recent gas price increases, he never commented on the Chevrolet advertiser with the “oil robber barons” comment in their ad. I guess you really don't want to bite the hand that feeds you.

Kimmer USED to bash Jacor, and the lousy benefits that they were getting from Clear Channel, but that was a while ago, and now sounds almost like a tame puppy dog compared to the shows of yesteryear.... not including comments about Nancy "haystack" Zintak and the sales weasles.. Could I hear those types of things from other WSB or 'GST personalities uh no..

Boortz has been going after AJC reporters and columnists for years. It's his job.Besides, Cox Radio and Cox Enterprises, which runs the AJC, are run by different management. So he really is not going after anyone that feeds him.Do you also find it strange when Rodney writes about other radio stations? Doesn't he work for the same company as WSB?

I think the only thing I've seen about AM750 is the kick in the groin management gave to Royal Marshall in killing his show. I have seen objective statements about 97.1 and B98.5 and their oh so tight playlists.. Let's face it Cox keeps things buttoned down. I don't think there is much dirt there (especially the days of Dave Paul fighting "Skinny" Bobby Harper.

Kimmer has calmed down alot in the last couple of years in his Clear Channel bashing. He used to call the building he worked in the "Building of Death," and used to speak rather unfondly of the management. However, in the recent layoffs I think he is worried about job stability so he is reigning it in. Too bad he made it funny. Out of the Atlanta market Stern used to bash Infinity all the time...now they are sueing him.

I think Kimmer used to refer to the building at 1819 Peachtree Street as "The Building of Death" because of its original black, dark gloomy exteror. He recently began to refer to this building as "The Building of Good" because of the way building management handled an incident in the lobby with one of their security guards.

Boortz is probably the most signifigant show in Atlanta radio. The difference between Boortz and most of the twits out there is the fact that love him or hate him - he is smart. A little prejudiced but kinda wears it on his sleeve. Shoot, you're hard-pressed to find any conservative, wealthy 50 year old white male that isn't a little prejudiced. --- whether they admit or not, the proof is in the action....Savage is smart too.
