NECN closing their Vermont bureau

No real surprise here. Western New England -- and that includes Connecticut, too -- has always gotten short shrift from NECN, dating from its earliest days. To be honest, not much happens in Vermont (where I am now). Our politics are generally unconfrontational and uninteresting, crime is minimal, and it doesn't take a two-person, full-time bureau to do a half dozen features a year on hiking, hunting, skiing and maple syrup. Someone can drive over from New Hampshire to cover that.

Hearst wouldn't have done this... (shots fired!)
