NECN SUNDAY: INFORMERCIAL CITY

New England Cable News [NECN] has no right to call itself a 24 hour local cable news station for New England as long as it sells out to informercials on Sunday afternoon and other times.

Either they are an all news station or they are a fraud. But what would you expect from Comcast.

Gee, I guess no news happens on a Sunday. I can start with Pearl Harbor and move through the rest of the 20th and now 21st century where news of great importance and urgency happened on a Sunday. And where would NECN be? Selling juicers and real estate scams. And we are paying Comcast if we are Comcast cable subscribers for this outrage? Scamed with our cable bill and this too.

however ANY informericals on a news channel is too many.

At least you still have NECN most of the time. Time Warner totally disbanded many of their cable stations (News 9 San Antonio and News 24 Houston among others). I would have gladly traded some informercial time for a, say, 20 hour a day news station.

New England CHEAP News from Comcast and Cox

And to think I was angry that Cox Cable here in Rhode Island would not give us New England Cable News. Instead they gave us the wonderful Rhode Island News Channel that broadcasts a simulcast of ABC 6 Newscasts and then replays that newscast until the next live newscast comes on. What a joke. I remember when NECN had live news almost all the time. I used to watch it while vacationing on the Cape. Now they have cut way back on the live news and I agree that Sundays are ablsolutely horrible with all the infomercials. Is it that friggin expensive to run a 24 hour live local news station. You would think that with all the money these cable companies have, it would not be an issue, but with NECN and the so called Rhode Island News Channel, this is pathetic! <P ID="signature">______________
