Need 360 shortcut

If you have the cash, get VoxPro. I know it's about $2,000 but it's well worth the money.

In the time it takes to edit one phone call in Shortcut, you can edit 3 or 4. Plus save on a network drive for use in winner promos, import audio from other sources, etc.

Vox Pro is only $999 for the software rather than $2000 if you don't need the remote controller with the jog shuttle...

Vox Pro can be controlled just fine with your keyboard if one prefers to only spend $999...

In all fairness, I have no experience with VoxPro, so I am unable to give an informed opinion regarding the software. I do have direct experience using the 360 Systems Shortcut and the Cool Edit program; both of which I have found to be very user friendly. Is VoxPro similar to Cool Edit?

VoxPro's "magic" is in the control panel. All buttons and a big jog wheel -- very DJ-friendly, and hasn't changed much in the years it has been out. Was a Mac-only device in its early years; from my recent "drive-by" observations the PC version now looks like CEP. But then again doesn't every audio editor?

VoxPro is much more user-friendly and much quicker than Cool Edit... For anyone who grew up editing on a reel-to-reel, VoxPro is like a virtual reel-to-reel, only about 10X quicker..

I originally bought Cool Edit Pro to go from reel to software for editing and hated Cool Edit Pro. Within days I dumped it and bought VoxPro.. I use it on a laptop and have no problem using it without the remote controller..keyboard operation is just fine..

I grew up using a Tapscan Reel to Reel and white grease pencil and the sharpest razor blade I could find..... ;D

That was my 360/vox pro

Ampex 600 and a yellow grease pencil and used razor blades.. Couldn't get white pencils.. I think the yellow cames from the owners kid's crayon box! BIGAPE

Make sure that whatever you buy, it has the newer style drive in it. The older SCSI drives are loud and no longer supported, so if it dies, you're basically screwed.
