Who do you suppose charges the highest spot rate in the city right now? Am & FM combined. Also do you suppose that WSB & WGST run along similar if not exact ad rates? Anyone know what you can buy a spot for on the sports stations too? Like I said I need a REAL insider. Wannabes move along please. Thank you.

Hey, big time, here's a thought: call the sales assistants and ask them to fax you a rate card. How's that for sleuthing?

I was under the impression that the standard "rate card" was a quaint thing of the past - from the simpler times of this business. There are now so many variables I doubt you can get a basic rate card. You can probably get some "package" prices -sponsorships, "summer sizzlin' ROS specials", weekend specialty show prices, and do the math from there.

I would guess that WSB charges the highest. About 4 years ago, I was buying media for a small agency. WSB want $1000 Morning drive M-F. Naturally the more you bought the lower the price went. WGST was about $650 for the same timeslot.

That should at least give you a starting point.
