Need AAA or Adult Rock

It is a shame that I have to stream a radio station from another state to listen to "World Class Rock".

How can a market this size not have one station that plays:
Ozomatli
Bob Marley
Elvis Costello
Santana (New, deeper cuts, not the Michelle Branch pair off)
Rolling Stones (New Releases).
Eric Clapton (New Releases)

One would believe that this station would serve a desirable demographic: Males with above average income. The kind that buy BMWs and have many lunch meetings in Westshore restaurants...

Instead, we get to hear the same tired Stevie Nicks and Eagles songs. I love the artists but when do you play deeper cuts or remove them from heavy rotation?

There's always The Spectrum on Sirius Satellite Radio.

If you have itunes, there is a great AAA station called Radio Paradise in the alternative category. Some ex-radio guy runs it from his house in northern cali. I believe he used to work at KPIG in Monterey. Check it out.

I hate to admit it now, but the thought of having to pay for sat radio was strange to me. No one is gonna pay for something that is free. But XM came with my new car last year and after the free 3 month trial period, I bought a year for something like $90, and I have no regrets at all. The Loft is fantastic and so is the XM Cafe for AAA type music with no commercials. Even the jocks are good.

I doubt terrestrial radio here will ever see a station like 102.5 The Wave/Point again. I miss those/that station. But, if someone does bring AAA back-like a KMTT type of a station-I will be tempted to see if the FM band works in my car.

Ya know, Steve Hunnington and even Chuck Beck had some monster numbers (at least in the Sarasota book) back in the day with AAA. Maybe the time is right to try it again. I would even give a JACK-FM type station a listen (but i wonder if the TSL would be horrible).

CBS Radio (formerly Infinity), Cox, CC...Do you have a spare 100KW station to serve the 35-54 educated audience? Does that narrow demographic even use the radio enough?

Real question is: Does anyone think the salesholes could sell it?

Forget it...I just bought a 30GB Ipod, went to radioparadise and KPIG, printed copies of their playlists for the past few hours. Found a bunch of the tunes online. Loaded up my Ipod, hit shuffle, now I have a damn AAA station in the Tampa area, commerical free! When I want more, I do it again.<P ID="signature">______________

When you are tired of the ipod and all the work it takes to update the music, go to Circuit City and get XM.

Having XM has allowed me to discover lots of new--old music. I keep a pen and paper in the car to write down the names of songs I've never heard on radio, or ones that I forgot about or some that I've never heard before. There is some great stuff waiting to be discovered.
