NEED AN ENDORESMENT?

I got as far as the first line that said "Giovanni & Kim in the Morning is the most fun way to start your day"

REALLY? Who says that??? "Giovanni and Kim?"

I've heard the show and I can come up with 100 more fun ways to start my day. They can go blow.

I'm going to take a giant leap here and guess that you're not a female 18-34... or even a female 18-49.

You're not the demo. No duh they don't appeal to you.

They certainly appeal to those they're trying to appeal to. If they didn't, they'd be out of work.

Even if I were in their Demo, who is to say that they are the most fun way to start your day?

I love how people can make up random statements and hope that everyone just accepts them to be true.

Not to derail my post away from Skynet's annual sour grapes rant but I think the reason I found this webpage so odd is that I don't see any issues with well known radio personalities endorsing something. A cluster actively shilling for endorsements by saying "here are our people and they're willing to endorse you" is kind of cheesey. Especially since so many of the people on the page aren't exactly well known.

KIND OF cheesy? You're being kind.

It's just basically a page that is meant to enhance the sales departments job and make things easier for them. You can download a bunch of PDF packages and demo files. It's just another way to market their various stations and sell ads. More than anything it just makes me realize that most talent in the cluster really sucks at reading Live spots and sounding convincing at sales.

Those first two Gio/Dunkin Donuts spots are embarassing. They couldn't sound any less convincing if they tried. It just makes me realize that certain people have the ability to sound natural and REAL when they read commercials. But others just totally suck at it. The only thing that would make the spots sound less convincing is if you could actually hear them crinkle the paper and throw it in the garbage after they are done reading.

SKYNET----stop being so harsh..Gio has been there forever and if the company didn't think he was funny he wouldn't have been there since he was about 18. I'm friends with him and actually take somewhat offense, which I normally don't, but I think if you knew some of the talent personally, some of the dialogue that comes out of your mouth could be toned down. And seeing as you are in the industry, People like Gio could teach you a few things----IF he took the time to work with you after your post

You take offense Erica because you know these people. They are your friends. If Gio was some dude in the midwest who you didn't know from a hole in the wall, you would probably agree with me. I'm looking at it from a purely non-biased standpoint. You're not. I'm sure that on a personal level Gio probably couldn't be a nicer guy. I'm not judging Gio or Kim on their personalities. I'm just giving my opinion on their commercial reads which I happen to think are horrible. There is nothing to teach me Erica. It's my opinion.

By the way I've even heard some of the best radio personalities do horrible Live spots. Howard Stern is notorious for rushing through live spots where it is blatently obvious he is reading and it sounds horrible. It doesn't make him a bad radio personality. He is the best in the business. I just happen to think a lot of radio people could do a hell of a lot better job at doing a believable commercial. Sponsors pay good money to get a quality spot on the air. You do them an injustice if it's apparent you are reading or being phony.

You sent me an aircheck once Erica and I told you it was awesome. I was being totally honest with you. I loved it. Whenever I critique someone I am always honest with my opinions. I don't go in for the attack because I think it's fun or because I get any amount of joy out of it. It's just how I honestly feel. I could sit here and lie to people and give undeserved kudos all day if I wanted. But I don't see how that is going to help anybody.

When words leave my mouth at least you know that is how I truly and honestly feel.
