Need Broadcast Attorney

Are you talking about a lawyer that goes on te air in a regular segment like "Ask The Lawyer"? Or is this about WTHZ-FM 94.1 not allowing WMAG-FM 99.5 to use the Magic name????

Dude not everything is related to oldies like you think.
It's obviously for someone seeking legal services, doubtful it's involving any Magic/Majic stations.

I offer this observation.... which is made without much personal experience in the subject. (The advice will be worth what you pay me for it.)

If you have some exotic issue with the FCC, you may want to locate an attorney based in Washington D.C. who has the ability to use inside contacts to get the "feel and mood" of FCC people.

If you have mundane day to day business like filing for a transfer of ownership or changing City of License where groundbreaking policy is not at stake, I would guess that attorneys based in your own state are up to the task, probably have lower operating costs, and you can meet with them face-to-face with reasonable efforts.

I don't have a name to offer you. I read a lot of Transfer of Ownership applications and I do see that attorneys that live out here is Flyover Space do exist.

Do you have any other interests? How old are you? Other than listening to a radio, do you have any connection to broadcasting? Inquiring minds want to know! Who in the world cares if somebody is saying magic 500 times an hour on a particular radio station? And if someone does care would they be as stupid as you are and hire a broadcast lawyer? I don't think so.

The person asking about a broadcast attorney might be needing advice about filing some sort of application with our esteemed government servants at the FCC.

Someone has already suggested Wade Hargrove who is well known and respected in the field. If I was looking for a broadcast attorney I would contact the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters in Raleigh.

They might have a list of candidates. Or contact local operators and ask who they use. Of course finding a local operator these days might be hard as hell (please excuse my language Matt Smith). And then you can always "google" and get information.
