need help on finding a clear FM frequency

I am going to be driving a rental car for a few months due to my new car being replaced. The new car I had was equipped with an HD radio. This new car does not have one, but I have a brand new JVC HD tuner, the problem is there is no jack to plug in the audio so I have to tune to a unused frequency for the HD radio to play. It has a wire antenna so using another antenna is no problem and it works pretty good, for some reason all the FM bands are used or close in proximity to another station. I used 91.5 today but there is still a station trying to come in. Does anyone know of a good clean vacant FM frequency, that I can use that would cover the whole Philly market from Center City to the burbs with no interference. I cannot believe this new car does not have an audio plug but has a usb port, go figure.

I tried using FM to listen to my smartphone in the car in this area through two smartphones (over five years). It doesn't work well. I finally went out and bought a new radio with Bluetooth, USB and a jack (also HD but that's another story).

Radio-Locator will tell you about unused frequencies in your zip code (any zip code you enter). That's fine if you play your smartphone through an FM radio at home. Problem is you don't stay put in your car. Drive a short distance in any direction and you get interference from some station (or stations). Maybe you could listen to a device in your car via FM in remote areas but not around here.

There is no "good clean vacant FM frequency" that covers the whole Philly market.

Since this is a temporary problem, a new radio is not a feasible option. But there is some thing you could try. Remove the antenna. Most antennas can be unscrewed from the base. This will eliminate all but strong signals from interfering with your tuner. Or go back to the rental car company and see if you can get a car with a jack or even HD.

Is 95.3 usable? I know that frequency has had pirate problems and may get a translator soon, but if the pirate is gone and you're not going too close to WZZO or WAYV it might work in the short run.

Thanks for all the great info, I am looking into all your suggestions, right now I am using 94.9 and its ok driving local, but like was said in the car you move around, not like in your home. I am glad you can choose any frequency you want and plug it in on this JVC, my buddie has one that only allows a few FM frequencies to use below 92.1.
