NEED HELP WITH A GENTNER HYBRID II

Our LPFM has received from a donation from another station, a Gentner Hybrid II telephone interconnect. We want to have a program that would use this..but it don't seem to work as it should. It looks like it might have been modified by someone with an extra cable comming out with an XLR, perhaps for a controller or something?? We hooked it up and it does not work properly. Since we are a non-profit station, we do not have a full time engineer available to sort this thing out. I don't even know for sure that it works! I am looking for someone in the engineering field that would like to check this thing out and see if it is worth repairing or un-modifing it to return it to the orginal condition. I downloaded the manual from Gentner and hooked it up as directed...but still don't work. If someone would be so kind as to take on this project for us..I would be happy to ship it to you to check out/repair. Be happy to pay for your time and trouble. Thanks, Gene WRPO-LP

If you haven't already, contact the station you got it from...hopefully the engineer knows what the modification was for, or can find documentation of it.
