I think this is the right part of the forum to ask this...
I need a confirmation of an airdate based on the following information I have on a VHS tape from 1984: On the CBC was Remington Steele (for which I have the tail end of the end credits) followed by War with Gwynne Dyer (the episode airing that night was Part 6: Notes on Nuclear War). I originally tagged the two as airing 1/31/1984 but if anyone has a couple of old TV Guide listings from that year, it may be otherwise. (Start times for each would also help.) The tape ended during the credits of the War series, which in my theory would be had the recording continued on, I probably would've ended up seeing the opening for The National, and if anyone who's watched The National in the '80s knows, they usually show the date at the intro. (Of course, I'm assuming Remington Steele aired at 8:00/8:30 and War at 9:00/9:30, with The National at 10:00/10:30.)
