Need help with old Scott Studios AXS program

I've inherited a lot of problems at a little AM station that still uses the old Scott Studios AXS system. SS wants $100 per half-hour for tech support!, so I've been told to see what I can do with it first. There is no way they are going to be doing any upgrading any time soon. I think my problem is with the real time scheduler. It keeps jumping from satelite to sweep mode and then it just runs through the whole clock for the day unless we stop it. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Anyone know where I can find a manual or anything?B.J. FessantWPRS

Are you trying to run in satellite mode, live mode, or sweep mode? It sounds like you want to run live assist but the system won't stop. Is this right? If this is the case, you probably need to use live mode. There is an icon in the lower left that looks like a pie with a slice cut out. It will put you to sweep or live mode. Sweep mode means it won't stop unless you stop it. With live mode you can put in "stops."The RTS sets up times when events occur (closures, timed events, update times). It is not the "on-air" screen.Tell me more, tell me more.P.S. Last I checked there was only one person familiar with the AXS system at SS and he's the GM and hard to get on the phone. However, they know everything. Just ask them.

We are running in Sat mode. My major problems are with it jumping into sweep mode on its own, and playing multple switchers at the same time. When it jumps out of Sat into sweep, it will just start sweeping break after break over the Sat switcher (which is still playing music).

Do you have a return channel set in the RTS? If you don't you can't tell what it will come back with when you get a closure. Do you have a stop at the end of your macro? My computer isn't at the studio, I think it's an 0082. In the on-air screen it'll show up as a red square.Oh, I just got over a brain f**t. Are you running AXS or AXS2000+? I remember AXS having a problem with that when we were running an overnight sat network. It was supposed to be fixed with 2000+. We did a workaround by going to spot breaks with macros that were "called" with the closure. It was a bit of a pain when breaks were different spot lengths because we had to set the closures up for each different break. If you want to talk you can email me and I'll send you my ph # off line

e-mail would be great for now. I'm going to be out of town for a few days, but I should be hitting it pretty hard next week. I'm trying to learn this thing from scratch with no experience. Just e-mail bj at 985wacf.com
