I would appreciate very much if someone could help me with this.

I'm looking for the title or artist of a pregame theme song/beat that NBC used to use on the opening of World Series telecasts in the late 70's and early 1980's. I think I recall that the music was used in a movie or something in the mid 1970's.

Forgive me with this, but I'm going to provide a couple lines of "da" and maybe someone will pick up on it and let me know. It is the coolest pregame opening music ever. I was listening to "Coast to Coast with George Noory" the other night and it was like opening bumper intro music into his show. Here it is:

Dada, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, da, dada, da, dada, da, dada, da da dal....... ???

I know that is not much help, but it starts out slow then picks up later. I'd appreciate any help.

I think I know the song you mean, I have the file, but I don't know how to post it, if you can provide an e-mail address, I'll send it to you.

I think I know the theme music you are referring to. I have a little of it on audio cassette from the 1975 World Series and a college basketball game in February, 1976. It was used for all of the NBC-TV sports telecasts from approximately 1973 into the early 1980's - baseball, NFL football, college basketball and NHL hockey. I found it on YouTube several months ago from a 1973 NFL telecast, but that isn't available any longer. I, too, would like to find the actual sound bed that the theme was taken from.

DonnyG, check you inbox, I just sent you my info.

Tks.

Another forum that I posted this question to said the theme music was used in a 1970's movie entitled "Shaft."

I googled that on youtube and did not find a correlation. I remember watching a movie in the mid-70's on ABC that this theme music/instrumental was used in. It is racking my brain trying to find this.

Just wanted to bump this to the top to see if anyone can come up with this soulful, beat theme music.

If anyone has a youtube video of the 1980 World Series between Philadelphia and Kansas City, it will be the pregame coverage narrated by Bryant Gumbel. That may be some helpful information.

Thanks. ;D

No, unfortunately that isn't what the theme/intro beat music was.

It seems like I remember hearing this music in a 1970's ABC network movie.

It is really racking my brain ???. Maybe someone will come up with it. Thank you for trying.
