Need Insurance Company Recommendations

I need your advice on tower insurance "broker" recommendations. We are currently insured by Hartford and they are fine but would like to look for a new broker. Our previous broker was an incredible guy & provided great service, Howard Jackman -- Unfortunately, he passed away and the business was passed onto another company and haven't been as happy with them (too many recent persnickety experiences).

Your recommendations are appreciated. josh

Ask the Hartford for the names of a couple other brokers.

If you are with Hartford, you are already getting a pretty good deal, I suspect. Certainly cheaper than Lloyds of London.

I've read over a number of your posts. I like the fact that are enthusiastic and passionate about broadcasting, but as some friendly advice, you need to think, rethink and rethink again some of your decisions. Why change carriers when you don't like the broker? Change brokers. Having a good carrier with fair premiums is most important for your bottom line. Once you have found a broker, have them shop around for better deals on coverage. Frankly, if your broker is any good, they will be doing that for you constantly. Moreover, there are few carriers that have the knowledge or desire to underwrite broadcast facilities coverage.

Thanks for your reply! Indeed, I am very satisfied with the insurance company. the broker may need to be changed.

I will contact Hartford for their advice on brokers. thanks josh

I had a similar experience and the insurance company refused to change independent agents so I could use one literally on the same block as the station. Said I had to use the same sucky one who ignored me for a year and lived 45 miles away. I cancelled and switched companies and wrote the president of the company about my experience. Now that it was too late, he called me and said I could use another agent. I politely explained what had happened.

May I suggest you contact some other area owners you know and ask for a referral to their insurance agent if they are happy. Most probably would tell you, it's not like you're trying to steal their secret sauce. It worked OK for me when I did it.
