I know some of you guys may be looking for work, so I'll throw this out here. KAHI in Auburn is looking for a part-time operations person.
The other day, I was walking past the studios and struck up a conversation with a guy standing in front of KAHI. Anyway, it turned out to be the GM. While we were talking about KAHI and radio in general, he mentioned that he is looking for a part-time "ops" person for the station.
The position would be part-time. Basically, the GM is looking for someone to wear different hats. Do some board ops, do some studio production, set up remotes, do some station promotion, maybe write some news, maybe a little "on-air" work. Basically, just a variety of tasks that the station needed done.
He would prefer to hire someone who has more experience than simply "on-air" work. He would also like to find someone who lives around the Auburn area, like Roseville or similar, so that the person would be available. I don't know what the pay would be, but I'm guessing you won't get rich
(minimum or maybe more would be my guess)
I told him that I let others know in case anyone is interested. The GM is Jerry Henry and you can contact him by email: [email protected]
He seemed very cool and approachable, probably a decent guy to work for.
Good Luck!
