Neil Rogers moving to Sirius?

Neil Rogers mentioned today that through his agent, Norm Kent, he had recently been in negotiations with Sirius. Apparently the talks ended becuase Sirius didn't offer the kind of money Neil is looking for, which is most likely in the seven figures....

Aaahhhh, greed. A truly American virtue that usually KILLS every good career decision.

And Neil could've counted towards Sirius' CanCon content.

I don't why it's a bad career decision, he's got the audience and he in his 60s, maybe if satellite radio was around before he joined QAM but he's got two built in studios and isn't he making $2 million a year. He's making enough to retire, and we need to have something to listen to<P ID="signature">______________

Well, at QAM, they're making full use of the DUMP button, right? Keep the decent split feed out to 560AM, and the raw and reeling to the uplink!

Plus Sirius wouldn't have to furnish him with a studio; hell he's got 2!

Best of both worlds; play the system already in place. That's what I'd do!

I don't get it

First of all let me say if I had to choose between Howard and Neil I'd take Neil....but...

All these two do is wine and complain. All the ranting and carrying on gets to be a bit much. It's just so negitive.

I met Neil one time while he was on the air at WNWS. He was very nice even complimentary toward the station I was working for. I was surprised and it was a pleasent experience.

Then there is Phil Hendrie. I don't get him either. The one bit he does over and over again is he does a fake interview with someone who says all kinds of outlandish things. Anyone with half a brain can tell it's him he's not even trying to disguise his voice! He then plays the callers as idiots.

These people make big money and I'm trying to understand the appeal.

This is entertainment?

When are we going to get someone who doesn't put others down, treat women with zero respect, and have a bad case of potty mouth. Oh sure they hit the dump button but what gets through is about as bad.

I'm all for free speech but with that freedom comes responsibility.

The shock jock era is over. It's been done, the element of surprise is gone. If this brands me a prude so be it.

Nowadays, somebody with a comment like yours would be called a couple of names that I will not repeat on this board. Frankly, I totally agree. If Shock radio is the way to go, then consider me electrocuted and dead. Wait, if I'm dead, how can I be typing this? Wait, I have to be alive to even THINK of this! Wait...I've got it! It's, uh...never mind. I'm too old to remember good radio...according to most of today's broadcasters.

I thought of that before I wrote it too. Sometimes I just look at the way things were and the way things are and I shake my head. then I think if it's this bad now, how bad will it get? Let me say I don't want things to move too far the other way either!

I sound like my next door neighbor when I was a teenager. He was a serious musician and I do me serious. A man who believed in hard work and practice. He thought that Rock and Roll was a Communist plot.

Ummm... Oprah and Dr. Phil top the TV syndication lists and the male/female morning show duo on every "Better Mix and a Greater Variety" station in the country treat men with zero respect; they're pigs, good for nothing, lazy couch potato NFL-obsessed (BLEEP) with wives and girlfriends who they couldn't even feed themselves without. A bit biased, are we?

Nope, I don't think men should be bashed either and I have a vested interest in that fight! :)

Oprah, Dr. Phil and the male/female morning shows are not where you'll find me listening.
