At one time, when COX owned both WSUN 620 (now 620-WDAE) and WIOD 610, Neil, along with Rick and Suds and Randi Rhodes could all be heard over a good portion of the southern half of the state between the two stations and then later 770 radio in Ft. Myers repeated WQAM so that market also heard Neil Rogers.
Neil also worked for a short time in 1972 @ am 1450 then WSPB as PD and Morning drive... His tirades started on the Jews on Longboat Key even back then... And as he came with his own "News Editor" who also lived with him, rumors about his sexuality were questioned back in 1972... I was working part time overnights there at the time...
He was irreverent as could be especially for the conservative area at the time, which meant he wouldn't be there for long, but he would be big at a larger market...
He and Bob Lassiter ruled the state for many years... May they both now rest in peace...
