Neil Rogers

I'm sure some of you were familiar with Rochester native Neil Rogers, the brilliant longtime Miami radio talk king, who died on Christmas Eve.

For those of you who heard him in action, you know that he was truly a one-of-a-kind. As a former Rochestarian myself, I always chuckled as very frequent references (on his Miami radio shows) to local Rochester places like Don & Bobs, Vic & Irvs, Batavia Downs, etc, which must have flown mostly right past the ears of his Miami audience. The funny thing was those refrences would come on an almost daily basis. I know he worked briefly in Canandaigua (at WCGR?) before eventually finding his way to Florida in the mid 70s.

Anybody have any dealings with Neil, either in the early days, or in later years? I'd love to hear some locally related stories about this remarkable man....
