First Nielsen ratings arrive for Savannah
Top 5:
1. WEAS-FM - Urban -Cumulus
2. WQBT-FM - Urban - Clear Channel
3. WAEV-FM - CHR - Clear Channel
4. WLVH-FM - Adult Urban - Clear Channel
5. WYKZ-FM - AC - Clear Channel

As you may recall Cumulus and Clear Channel signed on for Nielsen ratings in a lot of their 100+ markets.
Peeps say the in-tab was 3 or 4 times the in tab from Arbitron.
With these kind of returns, look for Nielsen to show up in a lot of other markets to come.

What do you think?

IF these are "real" then it is interesting that KIX is missing in action Top 5 Nielsen while Arbitron has them #1. At the end of the day it's all about the money, at least Arbitron has some competition (remember Birch?). We will see how all of this plays out. Really do not think Arbitron will blink or bail out of Savannah/HHI.

Hasn't Clueless and Clear Channel already bailed when they opted for Nielsen? Who is left to foot the Arbriton bill in the market of any significance?

Hheard from a friend in the market that all 3 clusters in Savannah hav dropped Aribtron and now the only ratings information being used there is Nielsen. The only Arbitron subscriber in the whole market is a stand alone FM WRHQ !! Amazing. From looking at the Nielsen ratings and I think Arbitron confirmed this too, the urban war has totally shifted with CC's Beat beating E93 in a lot of the key demos. Plus CC's UAC is also beating Cumulus on the older urban side as well. Pretty interesting stuff. It looked like CC had entire FM lineup moving up. Adventure had a couple of good moves with their Rock station. Cumulus is struggling overall there but they are really hurting on the urban formats.
