NESN AND RED SOX CENSOR FRIDAY NIGHT'S GAME

C

Did anyone notice that NESN and the Boston Red Sox refused to cut to the stands after a woman was hit by a Derek Jeter foul ball? The announcers talked about it and Jeter was noticeably upset but the cameras would not cut away to she how she was.

Guess its ' lets keep reality out of Fenway Park' philosophy and from the viewers. Well, if the Red Flops play as badly as they did all day yesterday not one will be in the stands to get hit and no one will be watching on NESN.

Time for NESN and the Red Sox to STOP censoring the viewing of the game. Real Bush league.

For the record, the woman was taken to the hospital and John Henry went to see her. Hope he wrote out a big check for the hospital costs at least.

"MY 9" from New York (real) and "MY 9" from New Haven (fake) did cut to the fan after a few at-bats. I hope she'll be OK. Boy is this murder for both teams. 3 games in about 25 hours, with the second game taking a record 4 hour 45 minutes! At least the NESN and "MY 9" advertisers will be happy! :)

GO YANKEES! ;D

you must be of those curious rubberneckers tying up traffic in the opposite direction of a big car wreck....

No, "I am paying for this camera Mr. Green" and I don't want NESN Or The Red Flops to censor what I am paying for with my cable bill.

My9 from New Haven is a real station, WCTX-59. It ID's itself as "My9" because it's on cable 9 in the Hartford-New Haven DMA.

BTW, when you post a thread title don't use caps lock -- makes you sound like you're SHOUTING!

Hazel May or Maynot?
Too much boob and not enough job ;)

I heard that the woman received 12 stitches. I'm making an educated guess that to received 12 stitches, it must've been a nasty wound with blood. With that it mind, I don't think that NESN felt it necessary to gratuitously (sp?) show a woman in pain with blood everywhere.

And what's with this hope that John Henry wrote her a check. My guess is if she was able to afford tickets close enough to the batter's box to get hit with a screaming foul ball, she probably has health insurance. Not to mention, the PA announcer tells you that foul balls are dangerous and be alert. Not to mention the disclaimer on the back of your ticket. Mr. Henry and the Red Sox didn't do anything wrong, though it was nice of him to visit the hospital. Now as for the Sox performance on the field this weekend... :-\

Her husband is Chief of Surgery at the Mass General or one of the other major hospitals in Boston.

Well, WCTX-59 is on channel 9 for many cable companies in the market, but not all. In some areas, you'll find it on channel 17 or 23, while WWOR-9 is (rightfully) on cable channel 9.

I hope the woman is OK. Now if the Red Sox can figure out how to make the playoffs? (GO YANKEES!)
