NESN letterboxing SD feed on DirecTv

Went home at lunch to watch the Sox game today. Noticed on the SD TVs in my kitchen that the game was letterboxed. Usually watch on one of the HD tvs in my house. This was on DirecTv. Are they doing this on Xfinity and FiOS as well?
