Net switches on this day in Pittsburgh

Two network switches occurred in Pittsburgh in 1945 and 1953 on this day. In '45 WCAE went from Mutual to Blue-ABC and KQV went from Blue to Mutual. Exactly eight years later KQV dumped Mutual to affiliate with CBS, causing longtime CBS outlet WJAS to go to Mutual.

Didn't KQV go ABC just a few years later?

they were actually acquired by ABC and became an O&O if I recall correctly...

Did affiliation changes in the Golden Age of Radio cause as much confusion and consternation as TV affiliate swaps did later on?

...in fact, KQV, as an ABC-owned Top 40 in the '60s and '70s, sent several of that station's administrators or jocks to WLS Chicago (John Rook, Fred Winston, Gary Gears, Kris Erik Stevens) or WPLJ New York (Jim Quinn)...
