The head of content at Netflix said Monday that the streaming site hosts what would be the most-watched show on cable if it were delivered traditionally rather than online.
Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer of the subscription-streaming giant, said that its popularity reflects a fundamental change in consumer behavior, shifting from watching TV on a schedule to viewing on demand.
“If you want to make money, you need to sell [your content] here,” he said of traditional programmers, speaking at the UBS Global Media and Communications conference in New York.
