Networking/Radio Dallas/Ft Worth

Anyone out there interested in a networking informal group to meet over coffee once a month to talk about the same things you read about here. This would be to go over alot of
topics (ie: jobs, air, sales, mgmt, etc.) As a long time reader, I thought it might be nice to put faces with all the folks who post regularly!

or,,is there already something I'm not aware of in place,,,,,

Just a thought?

Not a bad idea... can the underling "freelancers" come and play too? ;D

I have a face for radio---info. ;)

We tried this 6 years ago, but only FOUR people showed. And when I invite folks on the board to the DFW "Lunch Bunch" gatherings, nobody responds to the posts or emails me, and none of them show. Guess it's a case of protecting anonymity. We were even threatened by a group of Fitz lovers (remember him?) who were going to crash the 2001 party and cause a scene (none showed.) We had one guy at that "event" who wouldn't even tell us his name...just his "handle." C'mon, people, you're amongst friends. We won't tell. ;D

You know I can see that if I was in here trying to score up some game, but just to go by your handle in person at lunch?! Let me look at the domain...let's see....here we go... yep, no Match.com. IJS ;D

My only issue is travel. Catch me on a date when I'm in town and I'm in for lunch. Of course, under a nom de plume and those Groucho Marx glasses I have for rainy days. ;D

We could see if Jim Zippo was up to bringing back the annual Halloween party he used to host at his movie theater- house and all show up in costume.

Maybe a Saturday lunch would be better for more folks to get away. I know half the time during the week I don't know what I'm doing from one hour to the next, let alone getting away long enough to go have a social lunch. But I'd be more than happy to help coordinate a weekend GTG. I'll even use my real NAME *gasp*

Radi0Chik's Bed and Breakfast. Sign of now and get your picture taken with "Capacitor" her dog. She will even wear her radi0chik official "Radio Avenger Outfit" She makes a mean 70 watt martini btw.:)

Looks like there may be some interest from everyone after all?? What about the lunch bunch??? Is a weekday any better than a week-end? Im flexible so whats the answer?

Thank You for your responses,,,

Holy Googa Mooga! Sign me up for that. She can fluff
up my pillows and be my chambermaid anytime.....;D

something tells me I need to bring some ice water with me if we do this GTG! ;)

Might I also add that if you (generic) attended, you could use your real name and wouldn't have to disclose your forum nick - claim you're just "one of the readers" who never posts.... for those of you who don't wanna be "found out".

Does Jim still own the house in Plano with the movie theater in it??? (Is he still married to the ex Cowboy cheerleader/ABC salesgirl or did they split)? The 1st Halloween party I made there was a great one....and so was the cute little thing I went home with after the party!...but I digress ;)
Now Jim KNOWS how to throw parties...pina colada and grita machines galore...and all free!!!

Last I heard they were still together. Zip has her cheerleader pix on his website. Don't think they have the same house any longer. Those parties were fun.

Yes, Marilyn! I'm there.

The thing about Zippo's house was that he showed real movie film and the place always had 100+ people. He did the movie thing years before in home theaters were all the rage. You might even run into Chuck Norris there and they always had lots to eat and drink.
