The ratings are out and Clear Channel Country 96-9 The Kat WKKT has take over the #1 slot. Wow! I don't think that has ever happened.

WBT is way down. Anyone know why?

I wouldn't say going from #1 to #2 is way down. Their spring number 12+ is exactly what they had in the fall. They slid about .9.

It all depends on who gets the diaries.

I think the whole ratings thing has gotten way out of hand anyway. A better test is to put an ad on a station and see how much traffic you get in the store.

Most people never get a diary, and radio management makes decisions based on this? It makes about as much sense as a dog chasing his tail.

Mike is right on- Just wait for the next book...It'll be totally different. I don't know why, but Charlotte Arbs have always been almost as credible as a crap shoot...one book you're number 1, and 90 days later you're 5th or even 10th. It's frustrated programmers and consultants for years. We finally figured out the best thing to do was stay the course, and watch the numbers magically re-appear.

I noticed that country is booming in markets that lost their oldies stations such as Charlotte and Raleigh. Country must be a format that displaced oldies listeners gravitate towards.
