New 102 Loses One Of Its Hosts

Kory is leaving WDOK for an afternoon on-air position for the CBS-owned AC outlet in Dallas. He was on Q104 at nights prior to moving to middays and later afternoons on 102 after their switch to a hotter sound.

He was good, so he'll be missed in Cleveland on the radio. Best wishes to him in his next gig.

Chris Van Vliet ("The Buzz" entertainment reporter on WOIO), has been doing weekend shifts on WDOK for awhile now...perhaps he will replace Kory.

If they do go this route, expect CVV to be on middays, with Desiray McCray going to PMD to accomadate CVV's TV duties on WOIO.

I can see those ideas panning out. BTW, Desiray changed her last name from McCray to Cross. Not to mention she's been on PMD before and after the changeover to New 102.

Maybe Average Joe could head over to replace Kory, but that would mean another new addition to Q104, which I'm sure listeners don't really want to go through again.

I have a feeling 102 will look outside to fill the 3-7 slot. May the best get the gig!

You're right...it is Desiray Cross now.

Still say CVV is the favorite to fill the opening.

It's cheaper to move CVV to weekdays and hire a weekend guy, than it is to hire a PMD host (especially an out of towner).

WDOK also has Jeremiah Widmer, formerly of Q92 in Canton, as a fill-in/swing host. He has the same duties at Q104 as well. Don't count him out of the race to fill afternoons. Perhaps Jaci Fox could also get the PMD gig with someone new at nights. Big Dave deserves a full-time slot too. Lots of amazing talent to choose from.

Jeremiah has been doing afternoons this week, so he's definitely in the race.

He's #2 behind CVV in the sweepstakes, and perhaps CVV's TV work may preclude him from taking the gig.

If that's the case, Jeremiah certainly is as good as choice as any.
