I was amazed how well WXNU's reception is in Lowell, despite WSRB's signal being much stronger, and running IBOC on 106.3. But now that 106.5 is on the air, I will have a difficult time DX'ing 106.7 as 106.5 bleeds over on 106.7. I normally would get WPPN Des Plaines in Lowell, despite a very weak signal, but I would also occasionally get WGLM from West Lafayette. Now that'll be difficult. While radio-locator shows them off the air, recnet.com has their estimated primary contour, and it looks like there will be secondary contour over Lowell for WXNU St. Anne. If any new 1st adjacents start getting allocated around the Kankakee/Watseka area in the near future, it's going to wreak havoc at getting Chicago stations, as WIVR is already affecting WTMX south of 133rd Avenue in Crown Point & Cedar Lake. I understand that that area isn't protected from interference, but it can be annoying though, and that area isn't fringe coverage though. In the case of WIVR, I wonder if they tweaked their tower to reach Kankakee better, while their signal is getting stronger in Lowell. I just hope WGFA doesn't increase their height, or WLIT might get affected too later on with their 50kw signal.
