New 3TV Weather Personality is....

Kim Quintero. Looks like she came from Greenville, SC (WYFF NBC4) and according to her bio was working on her weather degree from Mississippi State.

April posted a photo of Kim sitting at one of the 3TV Weather Center computers getting aquainted with the system and the weekend morning show routines. She is supposed to be in the lineup for next weekend.

Did not watch GMAZ this morning so I don't know if they informally introduced Kim or if she just stayed off camera.

No they didn't formally invite, just sort of announced it. But definitely looking forward to her debut of 3TV.

So, we'll probably have Kim for the next fee years -- while she finishes her Miss St certification. So, does this mean that Tess will stop mentioning Brittney now? Surely, Tess won't bring up Brittney again while formally introducing Kim next week???

And not a moment too soon. April and Royal worked the weekend shift. On Saturday, April said she worked "14 days straight." Add in Sunday makes 15.

Looking at her website, it states that she finished it in 2012.

Funny, when I went to her website, I thought she reminded me of someone. Kim does look like Fierro.

I don't really see the similarity...but to each his/her own!

After watching Kim for a couple of weeks, I believe that she is a solid choice for 3 TV. She is very poised during her forecasts and generally avoids the "minor word errors". I assume, at some point, she is going to start doing live reports for events.

I agree. In addition she comes off as warm and friendly in facebook while mostly sticking to weather related info.

Is Kim Quintero gone already?

She wasn't on GMAZ Weekend. On Saturday, they used Royal Norman's weather from Friday night. I didn't catch GEAZ or the 9:00 PM shows and Kim could've done those.

I saw a weather ad that featured pictures of Royal and April Warnecke only, no Kim.

Kim's Facebook and AZFamily.com still has her working at 3TV.

Anyone know what's going on?

Is Kim Quintero gone already?

According to her Facebook page, she was in Coronado, CA doing a run on July 4th. Somebody asked if she was on vacation and her reply was:
"Yup! Visiting family before a LONG stretch!"

I noticed the graphic that just had Royal and April. Either that is one they did not update or somebody used the wrong graphic on the air.

Well, with Kaley on maternity leave, 3TV is really short of weather forecasters. They really need a permanent substitute weather person (like Randy Kollins on ABC15 or Steve Garry on CBS5). Andi Barness was tolerable for a weekend or two, but is not a good long-term substitute person (unless she gets a lot more familiar with the weather graphics).

Kim was on GEAZ reporting the haboob. Also there was a Forecasters commercial that featured all 3. However it was stitched together to add Kim; she never was on screen with Royal and April.

3TV has been doing a lot of "stiching" lately. For example, they have a commercial for 3TV News @ 9 and 10. Originally, the commercial featured "Fields Moseley and Carey Pena -- 3TV News @ 9" and "Yetta Gibson -- 3TV News @ 10". They simply edited out Yetta and still run the commericial as "Fields and Carey -- 3 TV News @ 9...3TV News @ 10". It's a bit clumsy and CHEAP.
