For those not on the mailing list:
Good morning everyone,
I am sending out another mass e-mailing to update you on the progress of
WKKC-FM.
First, let me personally thank each of you for listening and giving me your
feedback as we continue to explore the Columbus radio market. The response
to the 80's format has been encouraging and I enjoy listening to it
myself...it brings back wonderful memories. Radio and the music it brings
through your speakers often evokes a certain emotion. As it plays it can
transport your feelings to a different time and there is usually an
emotional imprint that comes rushing back to you as you hear your favorite
song. It is powerful. We have found there is an emotional ride that you can
experience as you listen...but much too often it gets interrupted by DJ
chatter, commercials, promos, and radio liners. So, we've tried to keep that
to a minimum. We have some public service programming that we've ascertained
can serve the community and we will be running some of it as well. But the
majority of what you hear will be music. Your music. Let us know what you
like or don't like about what you're hearing.
It does influence our decisions because we are here to serve...you!
Have you made a final decision on the format? Not yet. I thought we would
have a direction in March but the market changed as new stations were
bought, sold and moved. So, we have to reevaluate once more...but we're
close.
We built a new studio and need to work the bugs out....so I will be on the
air "taking your requests" this Saturday night if you want to call in or
listen.
Thanks again...we love you guys!
