New Afternoon Show at WIOQ

Q102 announces Bex will join Buster starting next week:

This is so awesome. Also be on the lookout of the pending rebrand of 96.5 as well!

Right. Most likely 96.5 NOW! FM
If Audacy rolls out that branding and 96.5 picks it up, would that be the second time a previous station name was used later on a different frequency? We had Mix 95.7, then later iHeart had Mix 106.1. (And even now, Beasley using Mix 99.5 in Wilmington after Mix 106 left.)

I doubt any casual listener would remember the short lived Now 97.5, but it's funny how the name may have come back around again.

Maybe just hallucinations. I thought they went from Bright to Mix to just the letters, and then back to Mix. Not a super long time by any means.

Just announced there's a new night DJ at WIOQ. For those who wonder who is local at night, here's one example:

WIOQ has become more interactive in the afternoon. Nice. iHeart is completely different in this regard than Odisy. Local and interactive listeners. Brandon over there gets it. You can't just do music. Do what makes radio, radio. As far as WJBR, I've heard it just be the stations call letters and frequency for ages and ages. from at least the mid 90s. I don't know of a time when it was anything other than that before the Mix rebranding.

I’m talking early 90s between Bright and dropping the name entirely. And there was definitely a bright period. I think Mix came in there as well.
