New/Alternative Rock to Gainesville?

Tried and failed with the old 97X. They made a sincere effort but the ratings were poor and advertisers stayed away.

However, I believe alternative is being done on one of the WSKY HD channels.

Sucks too. I remember, and liked, that station.

If I remember correctly, the former WRRX "97X" was more AAA than alternative, and only during the daytime hours. At night WRRX turned on "the bird" which programmed classic rock. Although 97X was unique, it was basically "all over the road" and inconsistent with its programming considering when it switched from local / live to satellite, the programming was essentially block formatted, suddenly going from AAA to Classic Rock every evening at 7:00 PM.
